Mini STPs (Sewage Treatment Plants) in CBO (community-based toilets) Toilets

Problem: In Mumbai there are about 1000+ CBO toilets being used by about 400+ people/CBO on a daily basis. All the water used in these toilets goes untreated, polluting ground water or going to sea. The CBOs are charged normal water tariffs as per BMC rules making them operationally unviable.

Solution: Setting up mini STPs.

Objective: We intend to provide STP’s to all the 1000+ CBO’s, making them self-sufficient in their day-to-day requirements, by way of recycling the waste water and to reduce consumption of water.

Advantage:

Makes CBOs operationally viable and savings in water consumption.
